Made from salvaged parts from the Liddell plant, Pressure Pipe Poems are playful constructions that link the station’s physical infrastructure to human experience, exploring the mixed emotions of the Liddell’s closure through materials.
Combustion Shadows is a series of work that also utilises salvaged parts from Liddell, heating them to temperatures that replicate the power station’s boiler furnaces and using them as brands to sear their distinctive mark into timber as a permanent but hazy shadow of the forces they once controlled. These works hint at the fleeting unseen energies of electricity and the flames which produced it.
