The aural inspiration and creative impetus for Echoes of Liddell was initiated by visits to the operational site of the Liddell Power Station.
Generations of personnel experienced the continual industrial and mechanical conversational murmurings in the workplace; the hourly, weekly, and seasonal durations of vibration and contained mechanical movement and the human interaction of colleagues.
Concentric captured sounds cascade throughout the work, evolving through time and diverse refractions, intertwining with human activity.
The cavernous space of operations and the resultant temporal effects directed the time-based manipulation of musical and non-musical events throughout the piece. Detailed listening will reveal delicate and secreted aural experiences, reflecting the internal space of Liddell.
